Colt 1849 Illustration

March 22, 2007

Quite the busy day. 8 shirt designs, 3 type treatments, and a illustration for a snowboard. I can’t show you the work that is being done on anything quite yet, but here is a piece of the illustration. It’s a Colt Pocket Pistol, circa 1849. It’s quite detailed, but probably can use a little bit more work. I’m pretty happy with it thus far and it’s fitting into the illustration quite nicely, however, being a perfectionist, i see little flaws. grrrrrr.

Here is the large view of it if you want to check it out. If you notice anything that needs to be attended to, I will take it into consideration.

Dang, the hash marks on the barrel are tough, that adds some depth to it, like it. Should room be left for more “kills”? I guess there is another side, just a thought…

The only thing that strikes me as odd is the hard line toward the top of the handle where the wood grain? ends. Maybe it should be curved a bit.

    Other than that it’s amazing.
